World Rights to Water Day - 20th March

 
World Rights to Water day,
Initiated by: Eco Need Foundation


 Water is essential for existence and survival of individual human being and human society at large. Having equitable access to water is inalienable universal human right. Therefore, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar had begun his movement for social justice by 'Mahad Chavdar Lake Satyagraha' dated 20th March 1927. Also the UNO has put the obligation on all of it's member states to ensure right to have equitable access to water for respective citizenry till the year 2030. in the context, there is need for taking effective measures for recognizing and implementing right to water for ever person in India as well as water scare nation. In this backdrop to have appropriate and suitable legislation will be the step forward. Hence from last couple of years Eco Need Foundation under the guidance of Prof. Priyanand Agale and Dr. Satyapal Singh Meena,Adv.Pradeep Deshmukh,Adv.Attdeep Agale, Dr. Parag Sadgir had started  observing and promoting to declare 20th March (the day on which Dr. Ambedkar organized Mahad Chavdar Lake Satyagraha' in the year 1927) as a "World Right to Water Day" Furthermore, Eco Need Foundation started campaiging for special legislation providing equitable right to water. In pursuance of this campaigning, every nation and citizens should celebrate "World Rights to Water Day" on 20th March to overcome on the problem of water scarcity it may be due to improper water conservation, pollution of water  and due to inequitable distribution of water or by any other reason. 

Event: 

"World Rights to Water Day program" will be at Institute of Engineers, Aurangabad.
Date & Time:- 20th March, 2018 & 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM IST
